How does this whole custom thing work?
It's so easy!  Once I am contacted by a potential customer, the first thing I like to do is set up a meeting (permitting distance isn't a problem).  During this time, I like to hear about your event and get to know you a little bit.  All the information I gather from you will be used to put together 4-6 custom samples.  Some of them may not be what you were expecting, while others may be exactly what you asked for.  I try to get a good mix in there to make sure we get the one!  This process is completely complementary, however keeping the samples is subject to a $25 fee.

Once a design has been chosen, we go through the process of figuring out the exact wording, which I'm more than happy to help with!  This process is usually done through email, as lots of family and friends are usually consulted on what to say.  After every change I will email a high resolution PDF for your review.  At the end of the process, when everything seems "right", I will provide you with one more physical sample, just to make sure everything is set before production begins.

How long does the design process take?
The time it takes to completely design invitations and be ready for production can vary.  If we are quickly able to nail down the look and wording of the invitations, this time can be as short as 2 weeks.  If there are a lot of wording, design, etc. changes made, the process can take longer.

How long will it take to get my invitations once I've approved them?
The length of production time can also vary.  The standard time is 6 weeks; orders needed sooner will be subject to rush order fees.  Depending on workload, it is possible for your order to be done sooner, but no guarantee can be made unless rush order fees are applied.

Can you help if I have no idea what to say or what to have it look like?
Of course!  I've done endless research online on different ways to word invitations and have way too many ideas for designs!  And even if we come across a question neither of us can answer, I will find it! :)

How much are custom invitations going to cost?
While the cost can vary, the average is around $4.00 per invitation.  Prices include the invitation, mailing envelope, RSVP card and envelope, and direction card.  Extra envelopes and add-ons are also available.

If you are looking to cut costs, one great option that is becoming popular is assembling the invitations yourself!  If I think that will affect the final product, I will tell you, but many designs can be quite easy to put together, and can save you a significant amount of money.

Why would I want custom invitations over the ones I can order from a catalog?
Custom invitations are definitely not for everyone!  If you just want something quick and inexpensive, invitations from a catalog or large internet based company may be best for you.

The reason custom invitations are so fun is that you can have them reflect certain things of your event.  Maybe you are getting married and have a funny little quote you want on all the stationery.  Maybe you're having a party with a Tiffany blue color theme and need invitations to match.  There are so many ways to tie in the little details and really impress your guests!  The design process is also a lot of fun, both for me and the clients!
